Bashir Makhoul, a conceptual artist born in Galilee, Palestine, pursued Fine Art studies in the UK, gaining his BA, MA, and PhD. He has exhibited widely showcasing his works at prestigious venues such as Hayward Gallery, Tate, Saatchi, Jordan Museum, Venice Biennale, amongst others. Makhoul is a leading scholar in the areas of art, conflict, and identity; he authored books such as The Origins of Palestinian Art. He is a professor of contemporary art, formally the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Creative Arts in the UK. Currently, he is the President of University Canada West, in Vancouver, Canada.
